Greene County RamsThe high school football season is almost here and it starts with the annual scrimmage game for the Greene County Rams.

Everyone is encouraged to support the Rams by cheering them on as they scrimmage North Polk High School in varsity action tomorrow night at 7pm. Prior to the game, Greene County Farm Bureau is sponsoring several tailgating festivities including: interactive farm games, pedal tractor pulls, a football toss, and serving food with pork burgers and hot dogs. Plus, fans can meet players and coaches from 5:15 to 6:45pm.

There will also be a photo opportunity with Jefferson Matters: Main Street to strike your favorite pose in the Hometown Teams cardboard card cutout. Volunteer Ann Ostendorf says it’s a great way to promote the Smithsonian traveling exhibit that’s housed in the Greene County Historical Museum in Jefferson through September 23rd.

“I have all of the different uniforms, and different helmets, and pom-poms, and music. You can sing, and you can do a tamborine. They can choose to get in the photo-op and their parents can take a picture of them with the different uniforms on. It’s hard with our busy lives to remember everything and this is just our opportunity to (remind everyone), ‘Oh man we’ve gotta get up there and see that before it’s over on the 23rd of September.’”

All festivities will take place at Linduska Field in Jefferson tomorrow night.
