The summer is almost over and school is almost back in session, which means the yearly Perry Elementary Back to School Night is coming up.
The open house will be on Monday, August 20th, from 5-6:30 p.m. at the school. Parents and students will have the opportunity to meet their teachers, see their classrooms, and learn about programming for the new school year. There will also be food provided by Hy-Vee. Kids are encouraged to bring all their school supplies with them to Back to School Night. Click the link below to see a list of school supplies your child will need for the year.
Perry Elementary Principal Ned Menke reminds students about when classes will start for each grade level. “So first grade through fifth grade comes on the 23rd. Kindergarten comes on the 24th, which is a Friday, or that following Monday, and that’s kind of a split deal. So it really allows those kindergartners to have a nice, ease and transition into that school. It was something we had piloted last year and it worked really well, so we’re excited to do that again this school year.”
Menke adds, parents of students who are new to the District should register as soon as possible, so they can transfer all the information from their previous school, as children can’t attend school until they’re registered.
