Hometown Teams Exhibit pic 1The day is finally here! The Hometown Teams traveling exhibit with the Smithsonian Institute is open in Jefferson at the Greene County Historical Museum.

The exhibit has lots of national and state sports-related topics, and there are lots of local sports programs featured as well. Jefferson Matters: Main Street and the Greene County Historical Society are partnering together to host the exhibit for six weeks from August 11th through September 23rd. JMMS Program Director Peg Raney talks about the exhibit overall.

“This exhibit is going to be interactive. If you’ve ever been to the Hall of Pride in Des Moines, (similarly) there’ll be iPads, things that kids can look at, bleachers and of course things for kids to read.”Hometown Teams Exhibit pic 2

The exhibit is free for anyone to stop by and check out. Plus, today Raccoon Valley Radio’s Little Big Red Radio will be broadcasting live from 10am to noon right outside of the museum. Hours that it will be open are Saturdays from 10am to 6pm, Sundays from noon to 6pm, Wednesdays from 1 to 6pm and Thursdays from 3 to 9pm.
