HyVee Gas Station ConstructionHy-Vee has been in Jefferson for just under 2 ½ years and they are now installing a new facility.

Hy-Vee officials have confirmed that construction has started on a new gas station and convenience store on the south end of the property on Washington Street. Jefferson Building Official Nick Sorensen tells Raccoon Valley Radio it is a 1,212-square-foot facility with a 50-by-130-square-foot canopy with six fuel pumps. Seneca Companies, Incorporated is the contractor that Hy-Vee has hired to do the construction. Hy-Vee applied for the building permit through the city on July 13th.

Hy-Vee officials say that customers will be able to use their Fuel Saver cards at the gas station, as well as continue to use them at the Casey’s General Store and Shell gas station in town. No timetable was given as it when the project will be completed.
