Recently the Guthrie County Sheriff’s Office made an upgrade to their vehicular fleet. With the increased number of transports to facilities in other counties due to the overcrowding at the Guthrie County Jail, the department felt it needed a more dependable vehicle.
Guthrie County Sheriff Marty Arganbright tells Raccoon Valley Radio the previous vehicle had about 130,000 miles and a second transmission. He traded it for a used vehicle from another department and received a good value for the trade-in. He believes the used vehicle will last several more years.
The department is looking at establishing a routine vehicle replacement schedule, similar to other departments and counties around the region. This particular upgrade was covered by the current fiscal budget.
