A Boxholm woman pled guilty to an amended charge for a May incident in Greene County District Court.
According to court documents, 23-year-old Michelle Nicole Howard pled guilty to a simple misdemeanor for disorderly conduct. She was ordered to pay over $200 in fines, surcharges, court costs and attorney fees.
The guilty plea stems from an incident on May 5th when Jefferson Police investigated a domestic disturbance in the 1300 block of Westwood Drive. Officers arrived at Howard’s ex-boyfriend’s residence where she saw another woman’s vehicle parked there. She didn’t want her child there with the other woman and so she had kicked the door in and tried to take the child. The investigating officer noticed Howard was drunk and she failed all of his field sobriety tests. The officer also found a schedule II controlled narcotic as he was searching her belongings while she was being booked into the Greene County Jail.
Court documents show that Howard was originally charged with serious misdemeanors for possession of a schedule II controlled narcotic and an OWI. The charges were amended to the one simple misdemeanor for disorderly conduct.
