GCC-Spring/SummerThe Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

County Sheriff Marty Arganbright addressed the Board on the ongoing County Jail project and this last weekend’s River Ruckus. Arganbright reported that there were no major incidents during the festival, and there were only a couple cases that extended beyond citations. He was able to accommodate the bookings due to temporarily moving a couple inmates to Adair County to make room. The Board also formally approved the agreement with Shive Hattery for Phase One of the needs assessment for the current jail.

The Board then awarded the bid for fence repairs at the County Transfer Station to Willms Fencing out of Guthrie Center for $5,053.70. The funds will be taken out of the station’s budget. Facilities Manager Brandon Thompson also informed the Board that roof repairs at the courthouse have been completed. Other action items approved included a permit renewal at the Transfer Station, and the Tire Disposal Policy, with a rate of 11 cents per pound and $200 per ton.

Guthrie County Public Health also informed the Board that about 100 people attended the inaugural Health Fair in Guthrie Center earlier this month.
