The Dallas County Mobile Food Pantry has four stops planned in August, with the first one being tomorrow.
Hunger Free Dallas County brings its Mobile Food Pantry to Perry, Adel, and West Des Moines once a month, and to Redfield every other month, in order to provide free food to those in need. Tomorrow, the pantry will be at Redfield City Hall from 5-7 p.m. It will then make a stop at Crossroads Church in West Des Moines on Monday, August 20th, from 5-6:30 p.m. Next is a stop in Perry at Dallas County Hospital on Wednesday, August 22nd, from 4-6 p.m. The final location will be the New Hope Youth Center in Adel on Monday, August 27th, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
The Food Bank of Iowa will send trucks delivering customized loads of food to each location, which include produce, meat, bread, and non-perishable items. The distribution system is set up like a farmers market, with local volunteers lending aid. No identification is required to receive food from the Mobile Food Pantry, and all items are first-come, first-served.
