Next weekend, for the first time since 2004, the City of Stuart will be organizing a City-wide cleanup effort. The cleanup days will be Friday, August 3rd and Saturday, August 4th from 8am-6pm.
The City will have two dumpsters for trash and one dumpster for metal placed in the Stuart Street Maintenance Yard at 220 South Fremont Street. Unacceptable items include: tires, paint, TVs, computer monitors, propane tanks/bottles, washers and dryers, appliances with freon, and hazardous waste. Acceptable items include ordinary trash, batteries, and metal.
Mayor Dick Cook has been working on organizing the cleanup efforts over the last few months. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio this has been needed for quite some time, and he’s pleased to be giving residents the opportunity to clean up their properties. Contact City Hall for more information.
