WCV (1)The start of the 2018-2019 school year at West Central Valley is less than a month away. First-year Superintendent Lance Ridgely is hoping to get off to a great start in all areas of the district.

Ridgely talks about his goals for excellence at WCV. “I want us to be excellent, and I want us to be excellent in a number of areas. I want us to be excellent in the arts. I want us to be excellent in the classroom. I want us to be excellent in the arena. I want us to be excellent in the community. When I talk about those four things, I’m talking about the administrative staff. I’m talking about our teaching staff. I’m talking about our kids. I’m talking about our parents as well.”

Ridgely further explains that he’s more focused on the process than on the results when looking at excellence. “What we know about excellence is it’s not a destination, it’s a journey. We’re continually asking ourselves how can we get better…That’s the type of leader that I’m going to strive to be.”

He also hopes his administrative team will be as transparent as possible when navigating situations as they arise. The first day of school at West Central Valley is Thursday, August 23rd.
