The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday.
The Council approved levying several sidewalk assessments. The approvals include three “Participating Properties” with assessments ranging from $679-3,361. They also include twelve “Non-participating Properties” with assessments ranging from $153-6,041. The “Participating Properties” have requested the City undertake sidewalk improvements and have agreed to the costs, while the “Non-participating Properties” have not completed or requested the improvements.
The Council then reappointed Tom Bacon and Marshall Burgess to the Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium Commission through 2020, and approved an advanced sick leave policy. The Council also discussed a job description for an Electric Operations Assistant, and approved the removal of the shuffleboard court on the downtown square as recommended by the Downtown Enhancement Committee. The court will be removed by City staff this fall and replaced by trees and plants.
The meeting concluded with a closed session to evaluate City Administrator Lisa Grossman.
