Summer may be half over, but if you’re like the McCreary Community Building and have an indoor pool, there’s always a need for lifeguards.
With that in mind, the Perry Parks and Recreation Department is once again offering lifeguard classes. Aquatics Director Kami Kirchner says the classes will cover things such as CPR, first aid, and other important lifeguarding skills. They are open to anyone age 15 and older and run from August 3rd through 5th. Additionally, the McCreary Center will hire anyone who passes the course, and after six months on the job, employees will be reimbursed the cost of the class. Kirchner says they will accept registration until August 2nd, the day before the classes start. She adds, there are limited spots available, so she encourages anyone interested to sign up sooner, rather than later.
