The Guthrie Center City Council met in regular session Monday.
The Council discussed two schematic proposals for renovations to the bathhouse at Mitchell Park. The first would be a remodel of the existing structure and would cost around $315,000. The second would be for a completely new structure and would cost around $600,000. City Administrator Laura Wolfe tells Raccoon Valley Radio, the Council liked some aspects of the plans, but there were also some logistical concerns they did not see as beneficial. No formal action was taken on the proposals.
The Council also discussed vacating an alley between Brown and Oak streets. No formal action was taken on the discussion, however the Council will move forward with drawing up the paperwork to come before the Council for formal approval. They also approved a sign application request from Springbrook Dental, and a fence permit at 1101 Bluff Street.
