GCPHGuthrie County Public Health (GCPH) offers numerous services for residents in Guthrie County. However, one of their most recent offerings may seem a little unique. GCPH began the process of becoming the central location in the county for passport processing last September.

Administrative Assistant Jo Rasmussen gives an overview on how the process works. “What we can do is process new passports and help you with renewals. It’s $110 for passports. If it’s a new one, processing fee is $35 and we also can take pictures and they’re $15. We’re excited that we can do this to keep it in the county, so you don’t have to travel to other parts and you can stay right here in Guthrie County and get your passport taken.”

The service was originally a function of the County Recorder’s Office, however they determined they did not have the resources or staff to accommodate residents. GCPH has processed over 300 passports since becoming a passport agency facility, and they have four trained professionals to aid the process.
