While this summer’s Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers baseball team ended with a below .500 record, it wasn’t due to a lack of competition. The Iowa High School Class 3A State Baseball tournament opens today at Principal Park in Des Moines and three Raccoon River Conference teams make up the eight squads vying for the championship. The Carlisle Wildcats, the Boone Toreadors, and the Bondurant-Farrar Bluejays all qualified for this year’s state tournament. ADM posted a record of 0-6 against the state qualifying schools from the conference, but half of the losses were by two runs or less. ADM’s 2018 season ended with a 13-16 overall record including a 3-11 mark inside the Raccoon River Conference.
