Friday Fest 2018 1

Last week, the Perry Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Friday Fest celebration, and Pattee Park was filled with people of all ages for the event.

Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti wasn’t sure of the exact attendance, but said she could tell those that were there were having a great time. “I started counting, and then I lost count, but there’s several hundred people here for sure. (The) park is full, and (I’m) just happy to see people get out and about, and enjoy themselves here in Perry!”

The featured performer was the popular local band Rukkus, who played a blend of classic rock and roll, country, and other favorites for the crowd. Many people brought their own food and drinks to the concert, but there were also food vendors, such as the Perry Volunteer Fire Department. Additionally, Dallas County Hospital sponsored inflatables, which were a big hit with kids. Chamber Board Treasurer and Friday Fest Committee Member Eileen Splendore felt overall the event was a big success, but says there’s more they could do for next year. “I think we could brainstorm as a committee and see what we could improve on. There’s always room for improvement, but I think tonight has been wonderful. Great turnout, everything’s working out as planned this year, but I think there’s always room for improvement!”

Pasutti and Splendore agreed that a big factor for the event’s success was the ideal weather.
