A Jefferson woman pled to a lesser charge and received jail time for a June incident.

According to court documents, 26-year-old Ashlee Kaye Agan pled guilty to a simple misdemeanor for fifth degree theft. As per her plea agreement, she was sentenced to two days in the Greene County Jail and ordered to pay close to $200 in fines and surcharges.

The charge stems from an incident on June 4th. The Greene County Sheriff’s office investigated a burglary in the 1100 block of R Avenue. The homeowner saw Agan and another suspect, 23-year-old Riley Walstrom of Des Moines, break into the residence and try to steal several items. The victim requested the items get put back, which the suspects did, and they fled from the home.

Agan was originally charged with a felony for burglary and a misdemeanor for trespassing. Court documents show that Walstrom pled not guilty to the same original charges in her arraignment. She has her pre-trial hearing scheduled for August 24th.
