Webster City defeated Perry 9-3 in the opening round of district competition Friday night. Webster City scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to open up a 7-3 lead. Perry battled hard early after Aaron Lockwood delivered a 2-run single in the top of the third inning to make it a 4-3 game. Keehan West pitched the complete game for Perry allowing 9 runs off 11 hits. Lockwood finished with three hits.
Webster City advances to the district final against Humboldt.
