The Guthrie County Transfer Station will have some changes in hours of operation this week to accommodate concrete repairs.
Transfer Station Executive Director Jotham Arber explains the repairs and why the closures are necessary. “We had a major crack in our garbage area. It’s a ten by ten foot section of concrete that now has a big hole. So we’re going to be replacing the whole tipping floor. On Wednesday at noon we’re going to be shutting down to the public so that our construction crews can get in there to take out the old concrete.”
Arber says the station will be closed from Thursday-Sunday to allow for the new concrete to be poured and dried. He says they will be extending normal hours until 7:30pm on Monday to accommodate the closures. The station will return to normal hours on Tuesday.
