The regular season for the Greene County baseball team ended with a 3-2 loss in eight innings in Alleman to North Polk on Monday. The Rams led 1-0 after one inning and were up 2-0 after 5-1/2. The Comets tied it 2-2 in the sixth and won it with a bases loaded, one out single in the eighth. NP won the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference title outright at 13-1, and they are 20-8 overall. The Rams lost their third straight game and finished 7-7 in league play and 14-11 overall.

Bryce Hoyle was the tough luck losing pitcher, going 7-1/3 innings and allowing the three runs, but just one was earned. He was relieved with two runners on base in the eighth by Austin Delp, who faced two batters and gave up a walk, then the game winning hit. Hoyle fanned three, walked three, and allowed five hits.

The Rams had six hits and two errors, which proved costly. Tom Gannon drove in the second Ram run and he finished with two single and a walk. Nick Breon drove in the first run with a double and Brent Riley also doubled. The other singles were from Wade Adcock and Tyler Teeples.
