The Adel City Council will convene Tuesday evening in regular session.
The meeting will begin with a public hearing regarding the Southbridge Planned Unit Development (PUD) and developer’s agreement. Following that, Mayor Jim Peters will give recognition to outgoing Council member Mike Haynes, as well as to two City employees for their years of service. In new business, the Council will conduct interviews with potential candidates to fill the vacant seat left by Haynes. Four applicants will be considered for the position, and the Council is expected to make the appointment following the interviews. The new Council member will then be sworn in by Peters.
The next items on the agenda each relate to the Southbridge PUD. First, there will be discussion and possible action regarding a new Tax Increment Financing (TIF) Urban Renewal District for the area. Second, the Council will consider an ordinance to rezone the area from agricultural to PUD. Finally, they will discuss a resolution to approve the preliminary plat for the Southbridge development. Other items on the agenda include: a special event application with fee waiver for the Aheinz 57 Ruff Ride in August; an appeal request of storm water fees; an offer to purchase a City right-of-way; setting a public hearing to discuss a rezoning request; discussion on bond counsel services for water projects; revisions to ordinances and City policies; easements related to the east annex sewer extension project; and payments and change orders for the storm water utility project.
The meeting is open to the public and will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Adel City Hall.
