The Adel Public Library is inviting the community to a blast from the past as part of their “Libraries Rock!” Summer Reading Program.
On Monday, July 9th, the library is hosting an Ice Cream Social and Sock Hop to raise money for their yearly programming. The price for admission is a free-will donation, which will get you ice cream, as well as other treats, and a night of dancing and entertainment. The ice cream social begins and 5:30 p.m., followed by the sock hop at 6:30. “P.J. the D.J.” will be filling the library with 1950’s-era rock and roll music. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their best poodle skirts and leather jackets for the event, and get their pictures taken for some fun novelty photos.
To learn more about this and other upcoming events, stop into the library or visit their website, AdelPL.org.
