Two Greene County Deputy’s responded to Calhoun County to help locate several male subjects that were involved in an attempted theft of items from a pickup truck that was parked in the 600 block of Hill Street in Churdan. The owner of the pickup awoke to several individuals gaining entry to his vehicle and confronted the two male subjects which fled with the vehicle owner in pursuit. The vehicle was followed up Highway 4 and turned west onto Highway 175 when the Ford Ranger pickup lost one of its tires. The driver of the truck continued to Lohrville where the subjects exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Deputy Shane Monthei and Chief Deputy Jack Williams with his K-9, Ranger, responded to the location of the truck. Chief Deputy Williams and Ranger tracked the suspects for about a mile to a residence in Lohrville where charges were subsequently filed against Chance Able Kinney. A juvenile also involved in this case will be charged at a later time. Greene County deputies were assisted by two Calhoun County Deputy’s and a Rockwell City Police officer.

A deputy was advised of criminal mischief to a trash receptacle in the 700 block of Harding Street in Churdan.

A deputy was advised of a car-deer accident on 220th Street west of J Avenue. Heather Marie Wuebker of 200 Hill Rose Lane struck a deer with her 2002 Chevrolet Impala. It was estimated that the vehicle sustained $3000 in damages.

A deputy was advised that a semi-tractor trailer had lost a set of tires and rims from the semi-trailer on 220th Street west of the Raccoon River Bridge.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
