This past June Midwest Partnership began another program aimed at bolstering local employment opportunities with a focus on educational outreach. They hosted their inaugural Teaching for the Workforce Conference and say it was a big success.
A total of 22 educators from eleven school districts participated in the four-day workshop. During the workshop they toured Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) based workplaces and engaged in discussion topics based on those fields. They also discussed workplace success in terms of fulfilling the need for future skilled workers. The event featured businesses and organizations from all four counties in the Midwest Partnership region: Guthrie, Greene, Adair, and Audubon.
Midwest Partnership hopes to make this an annual event.
