The shuttle hurdle relay for the girls’ track & field squad at Greene County High School currently ranks among the fastest in Class 3A, but sisters Kate and Sarah Sandage, one-half of the relay quartet, see better things ahead. Sarah, a sophomore, told the Raccoon Valley Radio Network, “So far I think we’re pretty good, but I think we can get better, too. We all haven’t run our best so far and I think we can get up there toward the top at State this year.”
The weather sounds good today when the Rams go to the Boone Classic, but it’s been far from ideal to this point of the season. Kate Sandage, a junior, talks about having more meets this season cancelled by poor weather (4) than the team has actually competed in (3). “It’s at little frustrating. We haven’t had our chance to run the best we can. We’ve only had a few opportunities.”
The Rams have added the May 2 Saydel meet in Des Moines to the girls’ schedule.
