There is potential for severe weather all this week in the Raccoon River Valley area.
The National Weather Service has extended a heat advisory for Dallas and Guthrie counties until 7pm today. Daytime highs are expected to be in the mid-90s with heat indexes between 100 and 105-degrees. Rainfall is also expected to be a major factor, with chances for precipitation Monday through Friday for Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties. The National Weather Service is anticipating four to six-inches of rainfall in our primary coverage area through Friday. Excessive rainfall could bring the potential for flooding and flash flooding.
