The annual Stuart Good Egg Days festival kicks off today with a variety of events. However, if you can’t make it downtown tonight, there will be plenty more opportunities to celebrate tomorrow.
The day begins with the early morning breakfast sponsored by the Stuart Police Reserves at 7am at the Lawbaugh Park sign. At 8am the 5k run/walk and slow pitch softball tournament get underway at the park and the old sports field, respectively. The parade around the park caps off the morning at 11.
The Lion’s Club pulled pork meal will begin at noon at the park’s West Shelter House. There will be plenty of entertainment in the park following the meal, including: the sand pile treasure hunt form noon-5pm, the Hanson Family Jugglers and Unicyclists from 1-3, the Myers Pedal Kiddie Tractor Pull from 1-4:30, and the Bill Riley Talent Show from 3-4:30.
Other events not in the park include the Stuart Diva Quilt Show and tours at the Depot from 1-4pm, and the Historical Cemetery Walk at North Oak Cemetery from 2-4. The annual alumni banquet at West Central Valley High School will be from 5-7pm and the street dance will end the night from 9pm-1am.
The Carnival will be in full swing all day as well. Raccoon Valley Radio’s Big Red Radio will also be on hand throughout the festival. We will be broadcasting live, playing music, and giving local announcements.
