StuartOn Monday an Ames children’s author and illustrator will bring his silly monsters to the Stuart Public Library. The free program with Tim Read will begin at 10am.

Read describes some of the components of his program. “We’re going to do some live drawing, live cartooning, interaction with the kids. We’re going to create a monster together. Kids will come up and draw with me and do a couple of caricatures throughout. So it’s really fun, it’s very interactive, and kids really dig it.”

Read also tells Raccoon Valley Radio he is often inspired by these programs to create new monsters for future books and projects. His “My Very Silly Monster” series has eight books total and focuses on helping children learn their “ABC’s,” colors, numbers, and other early learning subjects.
