Postseason awards are starting to trickle in for members of the No. 8 Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers girls soccer program.The Tigers, who won 16 of their 19 matches this spring, had four athletes named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Association All-West District squad. Senior Izzy LaFollette and freshman Ashlyn Watt are first-team honorees while Delaney Bertman and Sydney Canney are the Tigers second-team selections. LaFollette served as a team leader and forward this spring for the Tigers. The soon-to-be University of Northern Iowa Women’s Soccer player accounted for 14 goals, second-most on the squad, and leaves ADM with 39 career goals. Watt produced one of the best offensive seasons in program history in her inaugural varsity season with the Tigers. Wyatt scored a team-best 26 goals, ranking her third in the Raccoon River Conference. Her 11 assists are five more than any other Raccoon River Conference performer this spring. Bertman tallied 44 saves compared to six goals allowed as the Tigers starting goalkeeper. Sydney Canney provided stellar effort as a defender all season long for the Tigers, scoring a single goal this spring. The ADM Tigers girls soccer team fell one game short of the Class 2A state soccer tournament with a 2-1 loss in penalty kicks to the Dallas Center-Grimes Fillies Monday at ADM Stadium. ADM graduates eight seniors off this year’s squad.
