The Greene County Board of Supervisors met Monday in regular session.
During open forum, the Board discussed the topic of the ambulance service. With the retirement of Dennis and Marcia Morlan coming up this July, the Board discussed options to continue the service. Board Chair John Muir noted that it will most likely cost county taxpayers more money to hire additional, quality staff. However, he thought the County shouldn’t be the only entity to have to pay an additional amount. Muir had a conversation with Greene County Medical Center CEO Carl Behne and the hospital didn’t want to take over operating the service, due to an issue with reimbursement claims not being fully registered for them. No formal action was taken by the Board following the discussion.
The Board then approved a 2018 fiscal year budget amendment as presented, additional business property tax credits, and renewing the County’s Delta Dental plans with slight increases to the single and family plans. Additionally, the Board approved a request for an engineer’s report of Drainage District 14, along with setting an assessment rate at 2.9-percent for work done on a joint Drainage District with Webster County and a 4.2-percent assessment rate for work done on a joint Drainage District with Carroll County. Finally, the Board approved all County Drainage District’s levies and continuing a six-percent waiver rate resolution as presented.
