Friday, May 25th

12:20am: An officer located an Open Door in the 500 Block of Greenewood Road.

12:31am: Sean Sebourn called and advised a group of juveniles were knocking on his doors and windows at 205 East Madison Street. Sean was chasing the group on foot while speaking to the dispatcher. The officer arrived and met with Sebourn and one male juvenile. The juvenile was cooperative with the officer and brought him to a residence, where the rest of the group of juveniles were staying. The officer learned they had snuck out of the residence. All parents and guardians were notified of the issue.

8:49am: An officer assisted The White Oak Station with towing an abandoned vehicle on the private property at 303 North Elm Street.

8:55am: A caller advised of a small child outside with no parents around at 602 South Locust Street. The officer made contact with the mother of the child, who was working in Carroll. She advised her husband was watching the child. The officer made contact with the father, who had been sleeping when the child got out of the home. DHS was contacted by the officer.

10:32am: Devan Pratt advised of a stray dog running near 302 North Elm Street. The officer made contact with the owner, who caught the animal. The dog was visiting a residence in the area and does not reside in Jefferson.

11:18am: Diana Haase reported a stray dog in her yard in the 200 Block of North Olive Street. The officer recognized the animal and made contact with the owner. Amelia Kennedy was issued a citation for, “Animal at Large Prohibited.”

11:48am: An officer was requested at the courthouse to arrest a subject after his court hearing. James Kenneth Harris, 30 of Woodward was arrested on an outstanding “Fail to Appear” Arrest Warrant out of Buena Vista County.

1:24pm: Dennis Smith advised of a 10-year-old male driving a pickup in the 400 Block of South Cedar Street. The officer located the vehicle parked on the street.

2:29pm: An officer was requested at the White Oak Station at 303 North Elm Street. A subject was in the business harassing employees for towing his vehicle from the private property. The officer arrived and advised the male to leave the property and that it was his own fault his vehicle was towed.

4:24pm: Dave Hadley reported a speeding vehicle heading north into Jefferson of Hwy. 4. The officer stopped the vehicle in Jefferson and spoke to the driver about the complaint.

6:45pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical Call in the 600 Block of South Chestnut Street.

8:40pm: A Traffic Stop at Central and Cedar Street resulted in Jacob Sands of Jefferson being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”

11:00pm: An officer witnessed two vehicles racing on South Grimmell Road. The officer was able to perform a Traffic Stop on one of the vehicles involved. Kane Borgeson of Rippey was issued citations for, “Drag Racing Prohibited and Careless Driving.”

11:17pm: An officer responded to a Business Alarm Activation at Bomgaars, located at 205 West McKinley Street. A back door was ajar, but entry had not been gained to the business.

Saturday, May 26th

12:33am: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 406 East State Street.

4:03am: Julie Byerly reported having inappropriate photos sent to her cell phone by a male from Perry. The officer is investigating.

10:04am: Gene Dillavou reported two windows broken out in the building in the 600 Block of North Elm Street. The officer learned the windows were broken out in the spring storm and had not yet been replaced.

7:23pm: Bill Berger reported a crow with a broken wing at 402 North Olive Street.

7:59pm: A Traffic Stop was performed in the 400 Block of North Cedar Street resulting in Jackie Cram, 23 of Jefferson was arrested for, “Driving While Barred – Aggravated.”

9:57pm: Paul Tucker reported no workers located at Dairy Queen, but lights are on and the door is unlocked. The officer located workers outside of the business when he arrived. All was fine.

10:07pm: An officer checked on a vehicle in the 1400 Block of North Elm Street and learned a couple had been involved in a verbal argument. The female drove away from the area and the male walked home.

11:07pm: An officer removed a bat from the residence at 614 South Olive Street.

Sunday, May 27th

2:04am: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle at 220th and Grimmell Road. The officer’s investigation led to the arrest of Alex Dankel, 24 of Scranton for, “OWI 2nd Offense – Aggravated and Improper Plate Lamp – Simple.”

10:44am: Petra Dawson reported an Unauthorized Use of a Credit Card. Someone had charged her credit card at a Lowe’s in North Carolina for $384.24. The officer is investigating.

12:27pm Barbara Greene requested a Welfare Check on her daughter at 808 West Monroe Street. Officers made contact with her daughter, who was fine.

5:26pm: Shannon Otterson reported her juvenile son had spent the night with friends. He realized he left a pair of shoes at his friend’s house and went to get them. The shoes had been doused in gas and lit on fire, causing damage to them. Otterson was not interested in pursuing criminal charges and advised she would work it out with the other parents.

7:22pm: Gene Dillavou reported a stray dog at 402 North Pinet Street. The officer was taking the animal to the Animal Holding Facility when the dog’s owner called. The animal was returned to the owner and a time period given to license the animal with the city.

Monday, May 28th

1:22am: An officer removed a bat from an apartment at 305 North Wilson Avenue.

3:04am: Larry Joy Sr. reported an overhead door open at 600 East Lincoln Way Street. The officer contacted a Key Holder and secured the building.

8:21am: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Elm resulted in Patrick Finnegan of Guthrie Center being charged with, “Excessive Speed.”

9:57am: Heather Earley reported she broke up with a male recently and moved back to Iowa from Tennessee. She knows the male is now in Jefferson and she is concerned. The officer learned the male has not attempted to contact Earley, who now lives in Carroll.

10:17am: Casey’s advised a clerk did not charge a female for $40.00 in fuel. She had already left the business. The store provided a registration plate to a Perry subject. The officer had Perry PD contact the female, who returned and paid for the fuel.

3:27pm: Amy Blum reported her ex-boyfriend had gained access to her email account without her permission. The officer is investigating.

5:31pm: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical call in the 1000 Block of West Adams Street.

6:06pm: Trina Ramsey reported two stray dogs in her yard at 104 Sunset Place. The animals were returned to the owner in the area.

7:54pm: A Traffic Stop at 220th and Mulberry streets resulted in Maxwell Place of Des Moines being cited for, “Excessive Speed.”
