Like the other libraries across Guthrie County, the Panora Public Library is gearing up for their summer reading program. They will join the Stuart Public Library, as well as libraries across the state, in celebrating the theme, “Libraries Rock!” The program will kick off with a pirate themed barbecue and program on Wednesday, June 6th at Veteran’s Auditorium in Panora starting at 5:30pm.
Director Kim Finnegan talks about the program. “It’s going to be the Jester Puppets. It’s a musical pirate adventure with Jolly Rogers…Bring your families, children, grandparents. Everyone’s invited. You’re welcome to wear your pirate clothes and this program is actually provided by the Panora Public Library Foundation. So this is for all of you to enjoy.”
The first 50 children who attend the event will also be given a free t-shirt. Hot dogs and chips will be provided starting at 5:30, with the program beginning at 6:30. To hear more on the program and other events at the library, listen to today’s Let’s Talk Guthrie County program.
