This weekend, Crossroads Church in Perry is once again holding their annual “Garage Free” event, and they invite the community to donate or find some items.

The event will run from 8 a.m. – noon this Saturday at the church, which is located at 2810 1st Street. Everything there will be first-come, first-serve, but there is no cost for anything. Items that may be found include: clothing, home decor, furniture, kitchen wares, exercise equipment, bicycles, toys, and electronics. In past years there’s even been pianos. Organizers say they’re never sure exactly what they will have, so it’s always exciting to find out.

Additionally, individuals with items they would like to donate can do so through Friday. Items need to be clean and in working condition, though they won’t accept tube televisions or computer monitors. Anyone wanting to donate is encouraged to contact the church ahead of time to ensure the auditorium will be open. Crossroads Pastor Rick Gates says this is the 12th year for the “Garage Free” event, and their only intention is to help the community find items that will make their lives better.
