The last season of the cooperative girls’ soccer program of West Central Valley/Nodaway Valley/AC-GC ended in last week’s regional opener. The squad welcomed the Atlantic Trojans to West Central Valley High School in Stuart for a Class 2A Region 2 quarterfinal contest. The two teams played to a scoreless tie in regulation and the first 10 minutes of overtime. Atlantic sophomore Emma Templeton connected on the game’s lone goal in the 97th minute from 23 yards out to solidify a 1-0 victory for the Trojans. West Central Valley/Nodaway Valley/AC-GC freshman goalkeeper Chloe Otto recorded six saves in the setback. The loss ends the squad’s season with a 7-9 overall record. The cooperative soccer program will revert back to being just comprised of West Central Valley and Nodaway Valley student-athletes for the upcoming school year.
