West Central Valley Wildcat

With high school now in the rearview mirror, West Central Valley recent graduate Billy Larsen is gearing up for his first season of college football this fall. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network reported last month that Larsen signed a letter of intent the morning of his high school prom to continue his football career at Graceland University in Lamoni. We spoke with Larsen about the signing on May 11 at the Van Meter State Qualifying Track Meet. He’s super excited to get a chance to play football for the Yellowjackets. “The coaches (down there) were really nice, really enthusiastic, ” Larsen said, “They want to win, they have a lot of good players, and I hope I can fit into their scheme.”

Larsen expects to compete for wide receiver position for the Yellowjackets. Larsen played three years of varsity football for the Wildcats, registering 59 career receptions for 632 yards and one touchdown. The Graceland University Yellowjackets football team finished the 2017 season with a 1-10 record as a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference.
