This weekend will be momentous for many students in the Perry School District, as the Class of 2018 prepares for Graduation Day.
There are 161 students in this year’s graduating class, and their weekend will start tomorrow with rehearsal for the commencement ceremony at 8 a.m. Following rehearsal the students will take part in the annual Grad Walk through Perry Elementary, starting at 10. The weekend will culminate with commencement, which will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in the high school gym. The speakers at the ceremony will be two students: the President of the Blue Jay Congress, Luke Rathje; and Senior Class President, Karen Romero.
While the Class of 2018 will be officially finished with their K-12 education after that, the rest of the students in the Perry School District will have a few more days until they’re done. The last day of school for the year will be Wednesday, May 30th.
