Gas prices have seen an increase locally over the past couple of weeks.

According to AAA, an average gallon of gasoline in Iowa is $2.80. However, in Greene, Dallas and Guthrie counties, the averages are even higher. Guthrie County’s average is $2.97, while Dallas County is $2.94 and Greene County is $2.91. Our primary coverage area is among 20 Iowa counties with the highest average fuel costs, most in central and south central Iowa.

Iowa overall is still lower than the national average of $2.91 per gallon.
