This is the second day of the three day Iowa High School Coed State Track & Field Championships at Drake Stadium in Des Moines. With the exception of a nearly 30 minute delay for a technical snafu, day one was a big success. Great weather was met with outstanding performances in front of a paid crowd exceeding 13,000.
The Raccoon Valley Radio Network listening area had 10 top eight performances on Thursday. Those medal winners and point scorers hope to be joined by others from our area today. All three Raccoon Valley Radio stations and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com will have updates throughout today and well into tonight. Class 1A and 4A schools get things going at 9 a.m. with the 2A and 3A athletes moving in at 2 p.m.
