Wednesday, May 16th

1:00am: Kaitlyn Trevio reported a large group of young people fighting in the street near Vine and Adams Streets. As officers arrived, the group ran from the area. An officer caught a female subject as she was running east through the HyVee Parking Lot. The officer arrested Jessica Ann Marie Kelton, 19 of Jefferson and charged her with, “Interference with Official Acts – Simple.” Officers spoke with a female in the area, who had been assaulted. She would not cooperate with criminal charges being filed for the assault.

2:27am: James Berry reported Criminal Mischief occurring at 117 South Chestnut Street. Someone had rolled the business’s dumpsters down the alley and into the roadway.

6:47am: Belinda Lawson reported a stray dog following her as she rode her bicycle in the 200 Block of South Chestnut Street. The officer was not able to catch the animal.

7:58am: Abby Hamilton reported she had caught the stray dog mentioned above and had it at 400 East Monroe Street. The officer placed the dog in the Animal Holding Facility.

8:24am: An officer assisted Jerry Kelley gain entry into his residence after he locked himself out in the 800 Block of South Chestnut Street.

10:41am: An officer assisted EMS with a Medical call in the 500 Block of South Olive Street.

12:43pm: Tina Peck advised her daughter had taken her vehicle without permission from 701 North Cedar Street. Peck advised the vehicle was returned a few minutes later and she no longer needed assistance.

5:52pm: Vincent Ratliff spoke with an officer concerning a Civil Issue occurring at 102 West Vest Street.

6:00pm: Tony Nunez reported a suspicious vehicle in the 300 Block of East Harrison Street. The officer was unable to locate the reported vehicle.

7:38pm: Officers assisted with a suicidal male in Henderson Park. The officers took the male to the GCMC Emergency Room to be evaluated by a doctor.

7:39pm: Brenda Batschelet reported receiving unwanted calls from a male in Dana. The officer called the male and advised him to end the calls.

7:54pm: A subject flagged down an officer and advised him of a Careless Driver near Wilson and Clark. The officer did not locate the reported vehicle.

9:56pm: A caller advised of a Domestic Situation occurring at 706 West Madison Street. Officers arrived and spoke with a couple residing there. They learned a verbal argument had occurred but had since ended.

10:55pm: Officers checked on a 911 Hang Up call from the 500 Block of West State Street. The spoke with parents who advised of a verbal argument with their juvenile daughter. The officers helped resolve the issue.

11:42pm: Officers responded to a Business Alarm Activation at Shopko, which is located at 1004 North Elm Street. A subject had thrown a concrete block threw the glass entry door on the south east side of the business. An electric service meter had been tampered with in attempts to shut down the alarm system. Video of a male suspect has been provided to officers. The investigation continues.
