A familiar course is the backdrop for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys golf team today and their aspirations of returning to the Class 3A state tournament. The Atlantic Golf and Country Club will entertain the Tigers squad and golfers from Atlantic, Bondurant-Farrar, Clarke (Osceola), Denison-Schleswig, Greene County, Knoxville, North Polk, Norwalk, Saydel, and Winterset for an 18 hole event. The top two placing teams and the three lowest individual scores on nonqualifying teams will advance to the Class 3A State Golf Tournament at the Lakeside Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
Last spring, ADM advanced to the Class 3A State Meet with a second place finish at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club with a collective score of 321. Senior Micah Moyer produced ADM’s best score at the district tournament with a 78. Senior Matthew West carded the team’s third-best score at 80, and junior Adam O’Connor rounded out the scoring with an 84. Graduate Jacob Schumacher carded a 79 at last year’s district event. The Class 3A District Tournament will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. today from the Atlantic Golf and Country Club.
