The Perry Fiber Art Fair made its return Saturday in a big way, exceeding last year’s event in nearly every way.

Organizer Jenny Eklund says the fair shattered all their expectations, and it wasn’t just the familiar faces that helped make it so successful. “It is far better than what I expected. You know, the mornings you always think they’re going to be kind of slow, we had people before it was even scheduled to start. And what I’m really proud about — I love our locals, and I love to see our locals support everything we do — but today, I’m seeing out of towners from everywhere, and that’s a plus for our town.”

Attendees were able to view and purchase the fiber art pieces, as well as take part in demonstrations by the artists. Eklund says many of the items sold were for Mother’s Day gifts, as they held the fair strategically on the day before the holiday. She added, they’re already looking forward to next year, but would like some help from the public to come up with new ways to cover the City in yarn for the event.
