As the temperatures continue to rise, Guthrie County Public Health is encouraging residents to keep wellness in check this spring and summer. Guthrie County Public Health Executive Director Jotham Arber recommends applying sunscreen and staying hydrated to counteract the season’s sweltering temperatures.
Arber also recommends taking action to prevent a common occurrence after heavy rainfall. “As we go into the summer and we start watering our yards and we have rain, the mosquitos and bugs start coming out. Making sure we’re wearing that bug repellent to keep away things like mosquito bites that can cause Zika and all those kind of things.”
Arber also says public health is currently organizing a health fair towards the end of the summer as part of their “Healthy Guthrie 2020” campaign.
