Greene County High School has two athletes atop the leader boards in two different Spring sports. Senior Megan Durbin leads all female high jumpers in the state with a clearance of 5′ 8″. She’s coming off her second career Drake Relays high jump crown last Thursday when she topped the field of 24 with a leap of 5′ 7″. The Rams host the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference coed meet tomorrow at 4 p.m. in Jefferson at Linduska Field. It’s the last chance for the fans to watch Durbin and her teammates at home this season. With six first or second place finishes at State meets and the Drake Relays to her name, Durbin is one of the most decorated track & field athletes from Greene County in the long history of the sport.

Brazilian foreign exchange student Leo Marques is making the most of his time in Greene County. He’s tied for the State lead in soccer goals scored with 25. Marques has played 11 matches for the Rams, who are in their first season of having their own soccer teams. The Rams are 7-5 overall, ranked 16th in Class 1A by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association, and host PCM (Monroe) today in Grand Junction with the varsity teams playing first at 4:30 p.m.
