There are some very important dates on the Greene County Spring sports regular season calendars, but as April turns into May, the postseason lurks just around the corner. That’s especially true in track & field where the Greene County teams have just 10 days before they go to Manson for a Class 1A State Qualifying Coed Meet. The Rams will be hosting the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference Coed Meet tomorrow at Linduska Field in Jefferson at 4 p.m. Megan Durbin is coming off winning her second girls’ high jump championship at the Drake Relays in Des Moines. The Iowa State recruit went 5′ 7″ on Thursday for the victory. That same clearance placed in the top seven on Saturday at the University women’s high jump.

Greene County plays girls’ soccer at Nevada today. Coach Marilyn Tasler’s team is 1-6 after losing twice on Saturday at the West Central Valley tournament in Stuart. The Rams fell to the host Wildcats 9-1, then lost 3-1 to Creston.

The 16th ranked Class 1A Greene County boys host PCM (Monroe) in soccer today in Grand Junction. The Rams (7-5) were 1-1 on Saturday at the Des Moines Christian tourney. Coach Carl Behne’s team lost 9-1 in the opener to number 9 DMC, then won 7-1 over PCM.

Coach Heath Telleen’s girls’ golfers host ADM today at 4 p.m. at The Hill west of Grand Junction.
