After several prior attempts at visiting Perry failed, Eddie Mauro, a Democratic candidate for Iowa’s 3rd Congressional District, will be coming for a meet and greet this week.
The Perry Area Democrats had planned events with Mauro on two prior occasions, but weather and other factors forced the cancellation of the events. On Thursday he will finally be in Perry at 5:30 p.m. at the home of Alan and Monica Peitz, at 1908 North Street. Mauro is one of three remaining candidates vying for the Democratic nomination for U.S. Congress, District 3 in the June primary election. Each candidate is hoping to unseat incumbent Republican Congressman, David Young.
