panoraThe Panora City Council met in regular session Monday. The Council began the meeting with a discussion and approval of City goals, and the strategic plan as compiled by Region XII Council of Governments. Housing improvements were one of six main focuses, and will be explored going forward.

The Board then set the dates and fees for city-wide clean-up efforts. The fees remain unchanged from last year and the clean-up week is June 25-29. They also set fees for demolition permits at $65 and controlled burn permits at $150.

The Council also discussed City-held Certificates of Deposit, open burning policies, and sidewalk modifications at 202 East Market Street. No formal action was taken during the meeting, however there will be further discussion at the next meeting. The meeting concluded with a discussion on increasing economic development.
