The latest competition for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn boys track team took the squad to Marion County Tuesday for the annual running of the Pella Christian Co-Ed Invitational. The Tigers were among the eight schools to clash on the track; ADM placed seventh in the team standings with 71 points. The PCM Mustangs won the boy’s team title with 129 points.
ADM tied or placed first outright in four events at Pella Christian. Junior Lucas Heitz was the first person to cross the finish line in the 110-meter hurdles, clocking the race in 15.48 seconds. Freshman Tate Stine-Smith was among three athletes to clear 5’10” in the high jump, tying him for top honors. ADM had two relay teams take gold in Pella including the 4×800 (8:57.36), and sprint medley (3:51.38) squads.
Weather permitting, the ADM boys track team returns to competition at home tomorrow for the annual Tiger Relays. The meet features athletes from Carroll, Dallas Center-Grimes, Grinnell, Ogden, PCM, Van Meter, and Winterset. First events start around 4:30 p.m. at ADM Stadium in Adel.
