Greene County RamsThe Greene County School Board will meet tonight in special session.

Following the canvass of votes from last Tuesday’s bond referendum, the Board will consider for approval a resolution not to exceed $21.48 million in general obligation bonds and levying tax for the payment of it. The Board is then expected to approve the 2018-19 budget following a public hearing.

The meeting will end in a closed session to discuss the purchase price of real estate for the proposed location of the new high school and career academy in Iowa Code 21.5(1)(j) “where premature disclosure could be reasonable expected to increase the price of governmental body may have to pay for that property.” The Board is not expected to make a decision on the property, only that they will discuss it in closed session.

The meeting begins at 5:15pm in the conference room of the administrative building in Jefferson.
