Most areas in the Raccoon River Valley remained the same in terms of unemployment for February.
According to Iowa Workforce Development, Greene County was the same for unemployment last month as it was in January at 2.9-percent. The percentage of those without a job in Dallas County also stayed the same from January to February at 2.3-percent. Guthrie County saw a slight decrease in unemployment of 0.1-percent from the start of the year to February, and now sits at 4.1-percent.
All three counties are doing better now than in February of 2017. Iowa Workforce Development reports that Greene County was at 3.2-percent, while Dallas County was at 2.6-percent and Guthrie County was at 4.4-percent unemployment.
Iowa’s unemployment rate for last month was 3.5-percent, which was a 0.1-percent improvement from January. The national unemployment rate for February was 4.1-percent.
