On Monday the Stuart City Council approved site plans for the expansion project at Karl Chevrolet. Nicole Neal, a Landscape Architect for Civil Design Advantage in Grimes, was at the meeting to give the Council some specifications for the plan. The plans include a used car lot, service center, and car wash.
She informed them that the used car facility will consist of a 4,654 square foot building on about 10.42 acres. The proposed service center is 41,731 square feet on 6.12 acres, and is divided into three components: the body shop, the main service center, and the quick lube. The center would be placed on the north side of SW 8th Street and west of Gaines Street. There will also be a nine-foot basement located below the quick lube. The car wash will be a three-bay facility.
The plans also include several parking areas surrounding the structures and multiple access points. Water and sanitary lines will be connected to existing structures. There will also be a cedar fence around the body shop and other areas, in compliance with Stuart City Code.
